Spec me a new wallet - Specific requirements (no need for any more specs, thread has been updated)

British Belt Company seem to have a fairly decent reputation for quality leather products, been around a long time, UK manufactured leather products.

It might not be as fashionable as 'Big Skinny' and I can't imagine the stuff they sell via NOTHS is their most premium offering but I doubt it's going to be some cheap pleather thrown together in a Chinese sweatshop either.

I stopped using a wallet years ago, I just carry my cards loose in my pocket. I was going to get a Trove or similar but they're not solving any particular problem for the £30+ they want for them.

I don't care about named brands, if this is made by some bloke in a shed, why would that be a problem?

You're on! I've set myself a reminder :D
Named brand from the perspective of renowned for quality and longevity.

You'd hope so but it screams "Ashwood Leather" which is also garbage.

My old man still has his paper one, refuses to get a plastic one unless its completely free and I admire him (and you) for that!

Anyway, I went from a fat wallet like yours to a card holder (specifically the Paul smith one), it’s great. I’d get a bell Roy one now if I was to require a new one as it has the little pull tab.

I only carry 2 cards, curve + drivers and stuff notes in the other pockets. House key is in the main pocket. Works for me.

I’m always curious as to why people require so many cards?
I have so many cards so I can put points on them when I'm in the shop.

Nothing more practical than that for me.

QR/Apps on your phone? Saves carrying 500 cards. I’ve got apps for places I rarely go to but my just stop into when on the move like greggs. Would require massive amounts, I’ve even got a boots adv card on the phone solely for using at the air port.

Works at most places except:
Petrol station - my phone is plugged in for Android Auto - preference is key fob QR codes

Nandos - it needs a swipe. And you're a mug if you don't have two nandos cards and split transactions for double chilli goodness

I also have a few gift cards.

Curve is too unreliable to depend on 100%.

One benefit of covid is almost everywhere takes contactless so I just Apple Pay on my watch most of the time, the rare time I need to carry cards I have a slim card only wallet. I never carry or use cash and use the Stocard app for reward cards on my phone.

Need to upgrade to an iphone. :D

Nandos I usually just use the app and pre order but may have to use this hack for double points.

Key fob then becomes a monstrosity as well if have loads of keys and cards.

I have my car key on it’s own. House key as said previously is in the middle section of the card sleeve.

My issue with contactless is that I find it a lot harder to keep an eye on what I'm spending as it is so easy to just whip it out and bleep the card and go.

I picked up an A-Slim - Machete wallet recently. Has space for a few cards and a note section whilst still being slim. I got it in mahogany leather and pretty happy with it, quality seems good.

I got this as a Birthday or Xmas gift about 6 years ago from the GF. Just noticed the price holy **** LOL I hope she didn't pay anything near that.

Best wallet i've had though. I think having a see-through section for ID cards looks dreadful and really tacky imo. My version had the small section for coins but I can see this is without.

I actually love the addition of the coin purse! :D

Even without it's seriously cool though.

Apart from the lack of a clip, which I don't understand anyway (surely it just makes it bulkier in your pocket for no real benefit?), I was going to say Paul Smith. I used to have a card holder that was excellent and lasted years, then got bought a wallet like the one above, but more muted inside, which I've used for probably 6 years and its still in great condition.
