Spec me a PC

Sorry I was forum lurking at work hence my crappy non explanation! Sk82Jack was right, that's what I meant but if you can conceive of yourself overclocking (and it isn't that hard) then the K is defo the way to go.

Have placed my order today, ready to be delivered next Saturday!

Thanks for all your help guys, no doubt i'll be back when it comes to putting it together!

Well its delivery day tomorrow and I'm slightly excited.. just like a big kid at Christmas!

What tools am I likely to need to put it together?

Nothing out of the ordinary I don't think. A screwdriver depending on how tool-less the design is, and pliers depending on how secure you want the motherboard stand-offs to be. Can't think of anything else

Ok its all arrived, just a small question, there are two standoffs that have small collars on if that makes sense? where do these go on the board?

Ah yes, the little collars help secure the holes on the motherboard, so there is less movement, maybe put them along the middle holes?

Your not the first person to question theses standoffs.

I have go the MSI P67A-C45 motherboard, and the Coolermaster Elite 430 case...

Does the motherboard allow "Azalia" audio, or just the standard AC-97?

never ever heard of Azalia, it should be Intel HD audio.

the case front panel connectors will have a HDaudio and AC97 connector on one cable.

plug the HDaudio into the header along the bottom of the board.

Hopefully last question before the great check over and switch on...

The Graphics card Sapphire HD5850 has two 6 pin power connectors on, it shipped with two cables 6 pin to 4pin molex... I guess it needs both connected up with the PSU?

It came with two adapters so is it cool to use both? or just easier to use one straight from PSU

If the PSU has multiple power rails, its better to divide the load across them, than drawing all the power from the molex connectors.

just use the PSU connector, its what its there for.

One very very last question, the motherboard speaker... Any idea where it connects to on the P67A-C45?

Looked through the manual and no joy? Its a four pin connector, but only two wires going into it? unless its not needed?

It goes where the LED/RESET/PWR cables from the front go?
