That FAILS.

whilst complete bull i can see why it was said, the pc would really benefit from a forza-esque gamestyle. On the PC you either get a hardcore sim or something arcadey, not really any content driven/customisation driven titles like forza

Not that there is anything wrong with the racing titles the pc does have its just there is a gap that could do with filling

The PC is great for racing games but as mentioned before, you won't find anything that comes close to the likes of Forza or even Gran Turismo in terms of content and customisation.

The closest you can get to something like Gran Turismo is the PC port of the Dreamcast's Sega GT. Its a very old and dated game (2001), but does feature some of its own things from at the time and the license modes are just as difficult themselves.

Nascar 2003 as nobody has mentioned it.

Touring car mods, shet loads of user created tracks, race types and all the rest you'd expect from a long standing community.

Still the best pc driving engine in my opinion, though grid appeals much the same for very different reasons.

Well, I'd have to disagree. GTR Evolution currently has 49 cars with a further expansion planned this year which will feature American muscle cars. This before you even consider the mods which includes F1, German Touring cars among others.
rFactor has probably has the biggest collection of mods of all racing sims. It is true however that these games don't have the same 'pick up and play' factor that the console racers have.

That depends on how you look at it though.

The PC racing games does have it's advantages because of expansions and custom mods, but that itself is a double edge sword in a way. It requires the user to keep adding more content, whether it is official or custom made, but with the likes of Forza and Gran Turismo, they already come with a lot of content out-of-the-box. We just need a PC racing game that can at least compare to them from the start and without the need to expand by other means.

Can't help with the 'no-virtual' command, perhaps edit the programs startup. With TDU, the shops unlock as you progress in the 'career' ie, novice > professional etc. There is also an expansion pack.

Slight digression of topic, but would a G25 survive the enthusiastic inputs of a 4 year old...?

LFS with G25 all the way. FOX servers are class atm. Cant get on with anything from the gmotor2 engined games, just doesnt feel like a car.

I'm looking for a new PC racer now.

Does anyone know if the xbox 360 wires wheel works well with the PC?

I liked it on Forza.
