Spec me a sound bar

I've not listened to the MA MASS speakers, so have nothing to compare, but they do appear to be quite small and an older system now.

It also depends on what amp they have been connected to and how it's been set up.

Watched the 4k Blu-ray of Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part One last night.

The Q990F does continue to impress me with the sound it can produce. Especially when fed with a decent TrueHD Atmos soundtrack.:D

Blade runner 2049 is impressive especially for bass at the beginning. My go to sound check movie is Ready player one. The car race scene really shows how capable the 990f is.

Ready player one is scary feels like the house is collapsing in you.

If you've ever been to air show the same percussive feeling in your chest , vibration through the air and ground

Both are impressive. Watched them both in 3D on the projector before it was packed away for our house move.

Interstellar rocket launch scene is also a good one. I need to try that on the Q990F.

I've heard that many a subwoofer lies in waste thanks to Interstellar! lol

I’m impressed that this tiny little sub box can produce so much bass at such a low frequency. It’s very clever with the dual drivers I have to turn it down a fair whack as it’s too much for me otherwise.

How do you think it will do in a flat with neighbours?

You can adjust the level I run mine at -2 which is for me is great. Unless you don’t like your neighbours then you can crank it up and there is also a bass enhancement option too. :-)

There is also an option to disable the sub and use the soundbar to create the bass which is far more neighbour or night time friendly if you need to limit the bass. You can pretty much tune for all situations.

You could look at placing the subwoofer on a aurulax subdude, although these are pretty expensive and you can make one yourself, with some high density closed cell foam and MDF board ontop

My sub is on -2 as well. I find a sub should compliment the other speakers, not overpower them by booming away, even at -2 it's still capable of shaking the room when needed. ;)

Depends on use, for Hifi 2 channel stereo I agree as music being noticeable for music is pretty distracting if it's too loud, but for AV I bump it up a few dB, say 3dB.

Yeah because I just have some wood lying around :/

You can get off-cuts of MDF or plywood, last time I bought plywood £10 for 8mm 6'x3' , you literally need what 10"x10"? A few quid at the most . or just buy subdude @ £100+ or so (that's if you can as they're pretty old now)

or get SVS Soundpath feet, but check if they can screw into the samsung sub
