Spec me a spy camera

Could just buy some of the dummy cameras and put them in obvious places, and put up a few CCTV in operation type signs. Unless you get proper permission to put proper cameras up. Risky as others mentioned otherwise.

I worked for a large bank, one Friday the lady at the desk opposite was telling me how much she was looking forward to her Caribbean holiday. Little did she know at that moment her husband who worked downstairs was getting suspended for theft. He worked in stores and was stealing batteries and all sorts, he hid them in his locker which they made him open and found all the booty. Apparently he was selling them down the pub at weekends and somebody dropped him in it.

Poor woman had the embarrassment of returning to work on the Monday.

Diddums sets up camera... one of the HR girls gets ready to cycle home.. pops into the store room to get into her cycling shorts etc.. as she's getting changed she spots the camera

"WTF, which pervert hid this here?"

I remember reading someone set a camera to catch a thief at work, but instead caught one of their male workers playing with himself in an inappropriate area. :<

Well the phone was found which puts me firmly back in the "I suspect something but don't have enough to convince me" camp. Will leave it.

For those curious, I was going to record purely for my peace of mind and then tell our security that I suspect who it is so they could monitor him / her / whatever pronoun people pick these days more closely. The footage would never have been seen by anyone but myself.

Different these days. In my place of work we have cameras everywhere except the toilets!

I also remember when I worked on Creda/Hotpoint an accident happened and they wanted security to turn the CCTV on a certain area so they had to make an announcement that they were turning the cameras on in the Snagging area.
Obviously things have now changed.

We had a few concealed cameras in work up until a few months ago, the paperwork required for them was rather alarming and certainly enough to make you really, really want them. They were hidden in fake smoke detectors.

Do people not film these scumbag carers who nick money from the folk they are supposed to looking after without worrying if it someway infringes on the thiefs rights. So what is the problem with this situation? I say film the thief and then post it online and stop being a bunch of **********.

The problem is people have certain rights to privacy even at work (which can put you on shaky ground legally if you aren't careful) and there might be contractual reasons as well depending on the workplace - where I work for instance the act of recording and dissemination certain material (documents) even accidental will get you fired and is explicitly stated in the contract.

That's a point, loads of carers get caught and convicted off the back of hidden filming.
