Spec me a spy camera

Just set it up and catch the person simple as, all this "your not allowed to film in secret" is ridiculous, the thief deserves to be caught, if it was me I would do the whole operation covertly then upload the video to YouTube and then put a notice up "Thief found" with link to video on YouTube"

Just get a film noir detectives outfit and follow any suspects around using very bad/blatantly obvious surveillance techniques. For best results (our entertainment) this should be done after you install cameras everywhere.

Good luck Agent D.

This thread is good help actually. I'm sure our babysitter is up to no good in the shower, I think I'll be able to sleep easier after seeing the truth myself.

So OP isn't allowed to use his spy cam but the whole country is covered in CCTV? All he needs to do is E-Mail it to someone above him with temp e-mail...

Bingo, brilliant idea. Just send an anonymous email that someone at work has links to ISIS or is torrenting unreleased movies on the dark Web using company computers. You will be crawling with search teams who will uncover and nefarious activity.

Sure mate, sure.

Not ridiculous at all - it could easily backfire and worse case result in Diddums being fired in an unfortunate set of circumstances - there are certain areas that an employee has an expectation of a right to privacy within the premise of a place of work and there may be reasons specific to a company as well such as some areas/materials where I work intentionally or accidentally disseminating information about them is prohibited in the contract which has been something under consideration recently due to the rise in people doing things like vlogging and might be unaware they are in breach of contract.

Thief deserves to be caught but that doesn't mean other factors shouldn't be considered.

So the guy gets fired... he then takes the company to court for illegally filming him - yes he's no longer stealing stuff, because he doesn't need to, he's just had a big fat payout ;)

You missed my point, the company hasn't filmed him, 'somebody' has so they can't get in trouble.
Pictures are left around and the culprit knows everybody knows it's him/her.

Bullying in the work place due to an edited video...

I'm just wondering what's so difficult about doing it properly and getting permission/putting the appropriate signage up, rather than figuring out ways of getting away with doing it illegally?

You love to make things up don't you?
Showing contempt is not bullying, just because you have nothing to do with them is not contempt as long as you answer if they ask a professional question.
I'm actually going through this now with a work colleague and everything is tickety boo as long as I reply and then go back to ignoring him.
I've also been shown the policy to make sure I comply.

Would you now like to add that the potential teef man is being hit or having his ice cream taken off him?
Make up what you want.
