I'm a huge RPG fan, so played most out there. But at this moment in time, I'm looking for something to play that is story rich, so linear doesn't matter. It can be a shooter, adventure etc. Graphics are a nice to have, not essential.

Any suggestions really!

Wait for the new Mass Effect, always been top quality games for both story and game play. Think this is out in March!

The main story in The Division is good in my opinion. Especially if you do all of the intel and listen to all of the phone calls and soundbites, really adds to understanding how NY collapsed from a citizens point of view.

Yea, played through for a while. Quite enjoyed it. Specially the other MP aspect.

Ah, yeah. I think I even responded to a post of yours in the TW3 thread:D

How about Dishonored? Or, the new(ish) Wolfenstein game. Both have rather rich stories.

Loveeeeeeeeee Dishonored, tried the second one on release, it ran like cack. Even after their updates. Not tried it since. Which is a shame, might try it again tonight.

It's a bit old-school, but have you played through the Broken Sword series of games?

The latest one (Broken Sword 5 -the Serpent's curse) had a great script and was nice to look at.

You don't need to have played through the previous games to enjoy it, although I would recommend it.

Oooo, I'll have a looksi :)

I'm assuming you've played KOTOR, Deus Ex and Dragon Age: Origins. So in terms of non-RPG games:

-Freespace 2
-Assassin's Creed 2
-Max Payne
-Mafia
-Singularity (bit of a sleeper hit that never got much publicity when it came out, often in Steam sales and quite a few on this forum rate it)
-Metro 2033 / Last Light Redux
-Binary Domain - on the face of it just another mediocre third person console port but I actually really enjoyed it
-Grand Theft Auto: Vice City
-Spec Ops: The Line

Mass Effect Andromeda is only 2 month away,
Skyrim,
Dragon Age: Inquisition,
GTA 5 has a decent story imo,
Pillars of Eternity,
Banner Saga,
The wolf among us,
Old but good LA Noire.

Imo, you can't beat the batman games for story, I would say that they are just as good as Nolan's batman films for the story side of things, possibly even better...

It helps that the script and voice acting are extremely good too (all the ones that voiced the cartoons are present [except for origins])

Although you might have to be a fan of batman/dc to really appreciate it...

- Spec Ops: The Line
- Metro Series
- Max Payne
- Deus Ex
- The Swapper (if you want puzzle platform game)
- Superhot (1st person puzzle shooter)
- Firewatch (1st person adventure game, ending was a little naff compared to the rest but overall enjoyable)

Telltale games are all about story. I highly recommend the walking dead and wolf among us.

Brothers: a tale of two sons is a short but poignant game that I always recommend

I quite enjoyed the battlefield 3 and 4 single player stories (yes, contentious) and they are stunning games too.

Portal and Portal 2

Southpark stick of truth is actually a very solid turn based combat rpg with a good plot and plenty of laughs.

Three I've played in the last year or so with good stories..
Valiant hearts
To the moon
Life is strange
