Strange request I know!

Quite fancy getting one of these but there seems so many on the market.

Being completely cleanly, freshly shaved doesn't suit me. I hate that freshly shaved feeling. I'd much rather have a constant bit of stubble rather than waiting for it to grow.

So, I'm looking for one of these 'stubble trimmers'. Budget is around £30, brand isn't important.

Cheers.

I have the remington barba trimmer, have had it for about 3 yrs now and still going strong...one of the best trimmers ive ever used...ive had quite a few over the yrs but the remington one is the best i find.

How do you find the battery life on it?

I've had mine for a number of years and while it's without a doubt the best stubble trimer I've owned, and I've had a few, I've always found the battery to be pretty useless. Even with one shave it's pretty much dying by the end of it and needs recharging.

I got a Wahl Series 100 for less than a tenner and it works brilliantly. Accessories are somewhat lacking but that's to be expected. For £30 (maybe a bit more) you can't go wrong with a Super Taper.

Looks OK for £20 and gets plenty of decent reviews.

I was looking at the Babyliss ones. Are they any good?

Any others with the option to set the trimmer to 1.5mm, 2mm etc lengths?

Mine still lasts a week or so between charges...mind you it only takes me 5 mins or less to trim my stubble...thats when i cant be bothered to shave or am keeping a designer stubble.

Nah id stay away from babyliss...i had one of their fancy electronic ones, think it was the i-trim that automatically changes the grade etc but it was absolute rubbish and after about a few mths it would hardly hold its charge...pile of dog crap it was and it wasnt exactly cheap.

Just seen a Remington MB4110 for around £30. Has a 'Specialised comb for short beard styles (0.4-5.5 mm)'.

And, you can charge it by USB as well! :)

your keyboard is going to be full of even more grot by the looks of things ;)

These adjustable length things don't really work very well in my experience either. they would work perfectly fine if your hair stuck out at a tangent to your face but it doesn't in most instances. It comes out generally all facing down on your cheeks until it gets to a point under your chin and sort of "flattens out". Because of this most length adjusters don't pick up the hair properly for the cutting blades and they just seem to miss so much of it and you have this slightly patchy shave.

In the end i just use the long hair trimmer on its own, without any adjustable length thing on it. If anybody has a model where they find this isn't the case then let me know

It's not really like mine degraded over time.

It was alright the first few weeks, then it really didn't hold much of a charge, perhaps it's a bit faulty.

I've had a Babyliss, Philips and Braun shavers designed for stubble trimming and none of them have been as good as this Remington.

I've been thinking about getting a trimmer too. I just had a look at the Remington Barba and the shortest cut is 1.5mm. That's too long for me! I like my stubble to be just a bit longer than a 5 o'clock shadow (0.8mm ish). Might check out the one that fozzybear mentioned.

Another vote for the Remington Barba MB320C from me.

Had mine for a good few years, works great, and never had an issue with the battery.

For £19.99 I'd definitely recommend it :)
