Spec me a sub £100 graphics card

Cheers, could you suggest where I could get used 290X? Don't think I have access to MM. If not could you suggest a new card I could get instead?

Thanks

Heard of any online auction site? I can't post the name here since it's against the rules.
If you want new then you could get a r9 380 or gtx 960. Both should probably work with your existing psu.

Also look at this thread if you want to go for a 380:

The thing is the A10-6800K will bottleneck graphic cards faster than around 750Ti~950 level.

Considering the balance of the system, rather than spending extra on the PSU and getting faster graphic card only to be bottleneck by the A10, wouldn't it make more sense to say...just use existing PSU and get either a 750Ti for around £80, and spend the remaining money on a nice display (and possibly speakers)?

Though I suppose dx12 is going to help reduce CPU bottleneck for future dx12 titles, but how would well would it work is anyone's guess...

Okay, sounds like a good idea! Might just go for the 750Ti then and also an SSD.

Doh, how dumb of me :p

Alternativelly, I would recommend also try looking for a 2nd hand HD7950...if any can be found for under £100. The 7950 is a lot more powerful than the 750Ti, and also AMD's cards looks like going to give better dx12 performance, with only the exception of Nvidia's current flagship 980Ti being faster than AMD's current flagship Fury X.

The Corsair CX430 is rated to be able to output up to 384W over the 12v rail, so using a graphic card that's max power consumption under 200W should still be fine:

(see the chart for "Card power consumption- Maximum")

Very interesting!

Thanks for the suggestion, will have a look around!

Thanks everyone for the help also!

So would a R9 270X be okay for the PSU? (I presume its the 7950 equivalent?)

Nevermind, saw you need a minimum 500W

The 270x is rebranded 7870, it is slower than the 7950.

Also don't go by the "recommended minimum xxx" list by official site (as they base that on PSU of average and sub standard), look on techpowerup's site for their measure max power consumption for cards.

Any new cards I could get instead for around £100-£150?

Obviously I know second hand is better bang for buck, but just wondering what current new cards could I use?

Thanks
