You mean Dualit? I bought my 4-slice Dualit 30 years ago. Over the years bits have failed and I just replaced them. They look expensive on paper but in reality they will literally last a lifetime. And they make truly epic toast.

The shell, mechanism and power supply are the same. It’s had a new timer (£15) and 4 heating elements (£60) in 26 years. It cost £60 in 1996 and a new one would be £180 now so I think it’s been reasonable value.

hmmh - Dualit vario are interesting in so much that you can just switch on one slot, and save energy ... but I need a toaster that take those long flattened bloomer slices.

I just ordered one of these. I will likely still spill my coffee when it ejects but should last a long time and a good price
