Spec me a torch :-)

Could someone clear something up for me. I bought and LED Lenser from the river site about 3 months ago. Having just visited the Lenser website, I seem to be missing the low-high brightness option on my torch. I can only get on and off.

It's the £27.99 one.

Just remember that lumen count is usually greatly exaggerated the xpg is the only emitter i've seen that is bang on for output.

The exposure lights are nice but very expensive for what you get, fine if you're a tart mind i do like their joystick light once that gets up to the 400-500 lumen count then i will be very interested especially for the extra front and rear led's you can strap to them.

Sure i posted this earlier unless im seeing things?!

I have LED torches in every room of the house.
The 4 of us have a small one on our keyrings and I have them dotted in various cases when I go out gigging.
I also have 2 that strap to my head plus one on a Magnifying Visor that goes around my head.
For christmas the wife bought me 3 LED lights that clip on to things which is useful when I'm messing inside computers.
I'm a little bit obsessed with them.

Thanks Mark A & MarcLister. But what i was actually looking for is beam shots :) no worries if its to much trouble though. Was thinking of getting one to mount on my bike as bike lights <£50 are a bit poop.

Took these shining into the garage. Nothing scientific, just all taken at the same F5.6@1/8 ISO1600 camera setting.

First shot is from a 4xAA Energizer Duo torch like this one, that I take camping:

Then the L2D on low, mid, high and turbo mode:

Tomsk did some as well: http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showpost.php?p=10067495&postcount=46

Torches can be too bright.

The one I got for my bike... you cannot physically see past it if it's shining in your direction in the dark. Even on "low" and angled downwards instead of pointing straight forward to intentionally dazzle others :/

Keep attempting to cover it if a bike comes past in the other way. Hum.

On a lit street it's no issue but on an unlit path its different.

Just been out for a ride round the block actually :)

It's pretty good. The Twofish Lockblock holder they do feels a bit bouncy but it doesn't seem to move. Shines a nice white beam 10m+ ahead and would light up an unlit road really well.

I'd say it's better than any £50 bike light. Got a Blackburn Mars 3 light at the back.

Had two cars wait for me to pass which is novel to me :D
