Spec me a vacuum cleaner

Our Dyson, and my mums, and my in laws are all great vacuums... my mums has been running perfectly for 8 years.

I've not read anything about Miele vacuums but I know they make decent stuff which is why we have one of their washing machines. Solid kit.

We have a Vax bagless vacuum cleaner, think it was only about £60 in a high street catalogue sale and I can't fault it in any way. Much lighter and more powerful than my mum's £300 Dyson! Thought I'd broke it the other week cleaning up dirt/small bits of rubble after taking the tiles of the bathroom but washed the filters out and it's as good as it ever was!

Parents had a VAX for 10 years before they bought a dyson that only lasted 4 years and there was a loss in suction, even after cleaning the filter.

Went back to VAX and its been 3 years and still no loss in suction.

Only downside is the orange colour :p

theres 2 filters , the cylinder which collectors the rubbish has the vortex part thats usually full of caped on dust and if you have a rotating head the gear driven bit inside gets full of hair.

had our dyson about 10 years and it still sucks so good the carpet starts to lift up around the head.

just needs a proper clean every 3-6months

Yes they cleaned both the spongy filter thing and the cylinder.

We bought a Miele about 10 years and with regular bag and filter changes it's as good as the day we bought it.......my parents have gone through 2 dysons over the same period.

From memory the Miele Hepa was about £280.00.

Highly recommended

For value then Henry. We have a Dyson as well but the Henry is as tough as old boots and brilliant for cleaning the car. Take a look at what cleaners in the offices use. It isn't Dyson or Miele.

We had a Dyson for about 8 months, it just **** its pants and died one day. Cheap, mass-produced Chinese tat.

Our Henry hoover that was our wedding present in 1981 was swiftly brought back out of the cupboard and has never once failed us. Don't even know why we bothered with the Dyson, it was the wife's choice.
