Spec me a Vacuum cleaner

As a former Henry owner I would recomend a Dyson. Much as Henrys are indistructable and last forever they just don't pick up as much dirt. We bought a DC40 which was reduced by £100 a few months back and it's great, paticularly as we have a cat! It replaced a pretty decent Electrolux (one supposed to be good for pet hair) before and the dyson is a lot better at picking up cat hair than that. We set out with a budget of £200 and decided the 5 year warranty and better performance were worth an extra £60 over out original budget. Build quality seems really good too, better than the older dysons.

BTW I doubt the Henry will ever "fall over", the electrician who rewired out house was using an ancient Henry (that belonged to his mum and dad) to pick up plaster from when he was chasing the walls and he didn't even bother to use a bag with it! My mum's Henry is not much younger than me and I'm nearly 30 and that still works as good as ever.

Henry is a stupid design, you will knock stuff over and by design they will suck less than any Dyson.

Meile are for people with carpets, it requires effort to lift them (and I have big arms)

Dyson have a much better design for simple hard floors, are a third of the weight but suck just as much. The ball is effortless.

(I've used Henry, have at least four Dysons and have just got a Meile)

The actual cleaner doesn't matter that much, but what you will need is a flat hardwood floor mop, moisten it with water and the wood cleaner and do it once a week.
You'll get a dust free house in two weeks.
