Spec me a watch please.

Skidder;

I was liking the Swiss Army as a stop gap, a different watch from my "main purchase" lol.

Where would one look to find a second hand watch? As im a n00b i would be afraid of buying a fake.

Cheers

Andy

Get your self signed up to tz-uk.com very helpful watch community with a very solid self policing members market (you need to make 20 or so posts I think to get to see the market but start a spec me and introduction thread and get posting - a bit like here people don't like people spamming to get access but it comes fast enough if you show a bit of interest). The only couple of times I have seen people try to sell fakes on there the community has pounced! Much, much safer than ebay or similar.

Christopher ward or better still Steinhart if you want value for money.

Both of those produce a better watch for 400 quid than a 1400 quid Tag.

I would stop worrying about what other people think and buy a watch that you like.

it's a great watch - unfortunately it just went up in price a little but still with a decent swiss automatic movement, tritium tube lume and helium release valve it has to be 4 times the value of the more expensive bog standard quartz tags!

CW are starting to price themself out of it now, they want to watch it dosent turn round and bite them.

I agree completely. I think they have just about tipped into the wrong territory with their new range and price increases (but would rather see someone shop with them than with tag!) Your Steinhart suggestions is a good one too. I would also look at Precista but suspect the lack of brand would be a no go in this case.

Its a shame really because at 400 quid a CW was value for money but at 8 and 900 how many customers is he going to lose to "oh well might as well get a Tag for a few quid more"

Precista another good shout, decent movement without the image tax.

It's odd but I haven't worn a watch since I was a kid and never had any aspirations to own one - never mind an expensive one.

To me a Rolex for example was an over the top nasty piece of bling.

Until I saw the Rolex Milgauss... I really sort of want.
I like the green glass with orange second hand but like the plain clear glass version even more maybe.

Just wonder if the real watch aficionados are rolling their eyes?

Im thinking of this as well as my purchase next year, im actually looking at my card now getting
ready to order it. Surely this is a good buy / price?

I'm not a huge fan of Rolex watches, but think the Milgauss (both the dark face ones rather than the white face) is a lovely watch.

Sadly at an rrp of £4500 a little out of my price range!
