Hi all,

Bay window in bedroom is a square shape, windows on two sides.

Width 2.4m on the large window, 0.6m on the small end side.

As you can see there is not any space above the window, its straight onto a bay window ceiling which has a batten fitted to it.

Anyone know of any good solutions whereby I might be able to fit both a blind close to the window and then have some curtains too, or are we resigned to blinds only on this? I looked at the perfect fit blinds which attach to the window frames but they are expensive because you need one per pane of window.

You've already mentioned perfect fit blinds, which is what I was going to suggest.

Unless you can somehow get a curtain pole for the main horizontal section, with a small one for the side window. Getting curtain to fit it may be interesting though.

Thanks for the reply. Yeah we're struggling on this. I'm going to buy low profile window handles to start which will shave off about an inch from the handle protrusion to help with the blinds. But still struggling for a robust solution on the curtains.

Intu blinds are lower profile than perfect fit. Perfect fit have a frame that sits on top of the casement. Intu sit inside the frame and are much neater in my opinion.

If you want curtains then many makes do poles or tracks that allow 90 degree bends and they will fix into the ceiling rather than the wall (which of course you don't have in this bay). This would allow a full track curtain.

We have used the Silent Gliss brand of tracks and they have been very good.

I remember when we rented a flat that had a bay window, although they were more of a 45 degree angle rather than a 90 degree that you have. But the curtains were on a track to follow the window positions. I'm sure you could get the same for 90 degree corners.

More thoughts today on this.

The Intu blinds or perfect fit blinds are too expensive - running to near a grand just for this one bay, so it's not an option.

I am thinking of three blinds in a line one for each of the three window panels, then one extra for the side.

But i need to speak to them because putting three seperately made blinds in a row will need to ensure all the slat height and spacing is spot on perfect otherwise it will look like it doesn't line up right.

Have you tried blinds to go?
I have always bought my blinds from there as they have quite a varied selection of different styles and applications.

Yeah been looking at blinds 2 go, blinds direct, 247 blinds... there are a number of companies doing similar products. So far I think blinds direct seems to have the most suitable options for me...slightly less deep headrail, and more options in 35mm slat size.

I spoke to them today though to ask about clearances when putting three blinds in a line like I am planning to, they didn't know what advice to give.

Changing my mind completely now, thinking of going for Roman blinds, with curtain track as well.

Problem is choosing something to go with the colours of the room (that my gf picked btw). With plainer walls any colour blinds would have worked but by choosing green I fear choice is much more limited.
