Spec me an eye laser surgery place...

how long does it take for he flap to seal/ when can you rub your eyes?

Id be terrified of pulling it off

The quoted figure is 3 months when it is "secure" for you to return to normal life (just dont poke your eye, or get it poked). It is also the time you can stop wearing protective goggles at night (which is to prevent you poking/rubbing in your sleep)...

If you look at many ophthalmologists, they STILL wear glasses/contacts. Also, there is a school of thought that says that the flap never "really" heals fully...

Well it didn't move at all yesterday and you can't even see it. They say don't touch or rub your eyes for 7 days and lay off contact sports and swimming for 2 weeks. Then you can go back to normal.

Frosty you wear the protective goggles in bed for 7 days only, just so you don't rub your eyes in your sleep.

The drops don't sting this morning so I'd say the edge has sealed over already.

I had my left eye shot up Tuesday, but it was more to remove the membrane around my implanted lens.

Left me with horrible floaters which blur my vision completely and make it dark whenever they pass through the middle of my eye and pain when I move my eyes.

But hey, least I can see a bit better! (Can't focus on anything though)

Edit. Nearly fainted too from the feeling of the laser, didn't happen when I was younger but this was a much more advanced procedure and the laser made me really uncomfortable!

I'm booked in for the surgery on the 21st of this month at OE in Newcastle after Penski's recommendation. I'm *slightly* nervous but can't wait, it'll be great to be able to ditch glasses and contacts.

I'll put it this way, it's 15 hours since surgery and my eyesight is perfect already. No discomfort at all. Eyes are a little dry but I didn't sleep well last night with the goggles on.

Good luck "Eye"dolon :D

Ok, I'll get my coat :(
