Spec Me An Office Chair

So

Sorry buddy, haven't tried MARKUS yet. Mine at home is a DXRacer.

Some people suggest Herman miller but the reviews on amazon dont seem that impressive (they should be purfect for that money). some people look down on the cheaper chairs, Could be just pure snobbery but could be wrong. just not every one afford such expensive chairs.

Someone once told me "don't buy a chair online unless you've had a chance to sit in it first".

Having bought a Vertagear from Overclockers (which I've had for a few months and have now realised is too low for my legs), and a £150 Brazen "gaming/racing" chair (that was just ***), I'm starting to believe what he said!

I'm wondering if trying out the chairs in Ikea is the way to go...?

I do already have back problems which probably doesn't help.

I can't fault my noblechairs hero for that, im just under 5'10" and i have it at the lowest setting, the back of the chair is a couple of inches above the back of my head.

Did anyone get/try a Järvfjället then? If so, how is it?
I have only tried in at a local IKEA on a few occasions. I would say it definitely has better ergonomics than the Markus and the DX Racer Formula that I got at home. It has particularly good back support and head support due to the adjustable position and height.

However without sitting on it for hours, it's hard to comment on the seat padding itself would be comfortable if one was to sit on it for hours, and also the durability of it over long term use (though the same can be said/applied to basically ALL chairs). If anything this chair would allow people to seat better with proper posture.

But considering you can get full refund from IKEA with 1 years of purchase if you are not satisfied, there's really no harm in trying it and if you don't like it you can just return it for a refund (though if you don't return the item to the store yourself and request for a collection for the return, there would be a charge for that).

Aye, it does. But even with the gas lift at the highest position, it's too short for me.
It's a SL2000, and I don't think it's designed for someone that is 6' 2".
The SL2000 is equivalent to the DX Racer Formula in size, so it's really more for people that are around 5'5" up to may be 5'8".

I have the opposite problem to you with my AKRacing ProX:

...it is too big for me with my legs struggle to reach the ground even at the lowest position. I am around 5'8" in height, but I think the ProX is built for people 6'+ in height :p

It sounds like we should have swapped! :p

I gave up on the SL2000 and gave it to my girlfriend. She doesn't do gaming or fancy chairs, so was less than impressed.

I've just bought a noblechairs Epic because I'm daft enough to buy another chair online without trying it first.

That site is shocking. Pages and pages of "Sold Out!!!" results, and no way to filter just what they actually have available for sale. What's the point in that... website design 101.

I've been watching their site for months hoping to pick up a great chair at a reasonable price.
I haven't seen anything good added in all that time.
As you say the good stuff is just listed as "sold out".

Humanscale Freedom looks like an awesome chair. I love the height adjustment on the top part so you can actually have a head rest on a chair that reaches your head!

When it comes to Leap vs Aeron I think the Leap will be the better chair. I do prefer mesh back chairs for breathability though and the Aeron has that.

Of the 3 I would try the Humanscale Freedom first.
