Spec Me An Utterly Reliable 512GB SSD

Just make that there's nothing crucial on that drive. It's almost 3 years ago when my Samsung 840 EVO died without any hints of giving up on life. The machine was normally on 24/7 and one morning it decided to simply give up on me, not even giving me a chance to retrieve any data. :(

I'll probably lose some odd bits and pieces if it goes suddenly but I keep multiple backups of my data and one of my laptops is pretty much a mirror of the environment of the machine the 840 Evo is in.

re Samsungs

I currently have

970 pro
980 pro
4 850 evo
4 860 evo

All flawless over various lifetimes (I guess some are 5 years or so old).

I have a couple of cheapo crucials which have been reliable too.

Sandisk I’ve had multiple failures.

All the others (corsairs, oczs) were so long ago I cannot remember!

Intel were always considered the most reliable if I remember.

I would definitely have a look at their range but that said, it’s unlikely your neighbour will be hammering it with writes!
