Hi all, I’m in need of a little help. I need to spec either a new build or upgrade my current build. I currently have a budget of between £600 and £1000. My requirements are mainly for a gaming build and also on running 3 screens at the same time (this is a must) games I play and am looking to play are:

PUBG
DAYZ
World War Z (out this year)
WoW

My current build is as follows:

Motherboard - gigabyte ga-990fxa-d3

CPU - AMD FX 6100 Six-Core Processor (6 CPUs), 3.3GHz

RAM - 6GB

GPU - 2x AMD Radeon HD 5700 Series

Power Supply - corsair CX 600

Disc Drives - 240GB SSD & 1TB HHD

Operating System - Windows 10 Home 64bit

Case - Antec Nine Hundred Black Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Ideally, I would like to use parts from my current build to help save on costs of upgrading GPU(s) RAM processor motherboard etc etc.

Any help is greatly appreciated!!

Oh man,

Well it looks like a complete overhaul of your current build by buying a new motherboard etc...

Unless you wanna buy used hardware up to you.

For now buy a amd rx 570, and see if you can get a amd 8350 prehaps that will keep cost down for sure apart from that you do need a new pc.

Dan.

and no to the used hardware. I would like something special even if it means going over my budget (esspecially where the GPU is concerned) as long as it gets me the 3 screens

Oh man well all i can say is, graphics card prices are not cheap you see, also your fx 6100 is pants you will get a big difference with a new computer.

Excuse my ignorance Dan but would the GeForce graphics card be worth it? or would I be better off going with the red dragon until the AMD is released? and as iv not clue would the red dragon be capable of running 3 displays at an acceptable resolution?

In all respects, it has to be at least a rtx 2080 or rtx 2080ti... not cheap.

For 4k gaming right it has to be at least a rtx 2080 or 2080ti and that is with one monitor or a 1080 ti.

Yes going the rtx 2080/ti route is worth it, i don't know when amd will release their graphics cards mate but from the rumors etc around q2 of this year it will begin to happen.

For whatever reason where you can not afford the rtx 2080/ti, maybe the vega 64 i read that card does well enough with 4k which is satisfactory performance.

So with 3 monitors, if they were 1080 p each 1080ti or rtx 2080 is what i recommend first, if not then look at the vega 64 which cost around 400 quid which is like half the price roughly when compared to the rtx 2080 as an alternative.

It would be better to wait mate for the new graphics cards from amd to be honest as the vega 64 is last gen when compared to the rtx 2080/ti cards.

Why i am i going on about 4k resolution, well if you had 3 1080p monitors it would be rather close to 4k resolution you see with 3 monitors.

Dan.

I am completely confident the 2080 ti will give you what you need, yes it will burn a hole in your pocket but i think most if not all people on this forum would agree that 2080 ti for you is the way to go if you was buying now.

Dan Thank you. Think I will stretch to the 2080ti just need to convince the misses its needed :)

Hang on. How many of the monitors are you using for gaming on ? I assume just the 27" one as using 2 x 24" and 1 x 27" is an odd combo otherwise.

Also if you are fine with 1080p resolution then a 2080 ti is a massive waste.

I thought of it this way, 3 monitors running at 1080p each the graphics cards have to do every single resolution on each screen.

That is if he is using those 3 screens solely on gaming.

As for the resolution we don't know.

Usually all 3 monitors would be the same size/resolution though for that. He mentions 2 x 24" and 1 x 27" which is an odd combo for triple screen gaming.

I agree where your coming from Lee, yes it would be a waste but we simply do not know what resolution he is using and what he will be doing with these monitors so i did a guess of him having 3 1080p screens as you know.

Yep 2 x 24 and 1 x 27 so maybe different resolutions anyways we don't know.

@Ragnar118 for the best please give us some more information to avoid buyers remorse.

yeah sorry guys. could have been a little clearer. the 27" for gaming the other two would be used more for University purposes running word and videos etc.
