SPEC ME, help!!

yeah sorry guys. could have been a little clearer. the 27" for gaming the other two would be used more for University purposes running word and videos etc.

So you need to decide on what resolution you want for the main gaming screen as that will affect the gpu choice. At lower resolutions you don't need as much gpu as you would for 4K for example. The 2080 ti is more of a 4K or 1440p/3440 x 1440p high refresh rate gpu.

@Ragnar118 Can you tell us what make your monitor is and the model name?

We need this to determine the resolution on your 27 inch as well as your other monitors.

You should be able to right click in windows desktop and go/click into display settings which will tell you what resolution your monitor is at.

Thanks,

Dan.

Or even better i right clicked and went into nvidia control panel as can be seen in picture above and gives the model name in picture below.

Either way we are only after your native resolution, since we don't need the monitor model name.

Yeah. I have two crappy monitors (unnamed) @ 1920 x 1080 and I'm ordering a 27" @3840 x 2160

Thanks yes helps.

Yes if you want to play on ultra graphics settings on your new 27 inch @ 3840 x 2160 since as you say will be your main gaming monitor then at the very least get a rtx 2080 especially at that resolution as well as powering your two 1080p monitors.

Lee should be able to put this straight, but i am confident a rtx 2080 non ti will have the power to plow through 3840 x 2160.

I have a question is this monitor g sync or freesync which is the monitor you will order?

Anyways Lee was right about it being odd to game on all 3 screens when 2 are 24 inch and one 27 inch which is the monitor you will order.

Yes i would change the ryzen 2600 non x to a ryzen 2700 non x.

Either way if you want to save money stay with the ryzen 2600 non x it will do the job fine and since amd are supporting the am4 motherboard socket until 2020 you can always upgrade the processor so going with the ryzen 2600 is fine because this year amd will release the ryzen 3xxx series you see and then the ryzen 4xxx series so you can always upgrade to that by flashing the motherboard bios.

Don't know but the amd processor comes with a half decent cpu cooler but if you want the cooler to be quiet then buying a 3rd party cooler would be the way to go.

As you say about being a pain, it is fine we have to start somewhere.

Everything else check out in your build above but i am no expert on motherboards.

So yea the ryzen 2600 will have enough power to do the job.

The RTX 2080 will do a decent job at 4K. Which 4K monitor did you have in mind ?

You probably don't need the thermal paste, especially if you are only going to use the stock AMD cooler.

I would go with the Gigabyte B450 Aorus Elite/Pro or MSI B450 Tomahawk myself.

The Antec Earthwatts 650W is slightly cheaper if you don't mind semi modular.

whisper M is tier one, antec/seasonic is tier 2 - but all are great units.

Gigabyte has better warranty for parts, helps with UK rep support on here and RMA.

if your spending £700 on a card, push a little deeper for longer warranty - helps with resale etc

also 4K monitors... push 32" min! 27" you'll be looking at the screen and not noticing a difference between it and 1440p, specially if you sit back from the screen. You'll also have to increase ingame text size/ windows scale to be able to read stuff! games like eve/wow are pain in the back side with small 4k screens and text !!!
