That might be "The Quiet Earth" that I mentioned in the OP.


The discussion about the end of "I am legend" is interesting. I read the book again not long ago and it reminded of the real premise of the story. By the end of the book he realises that the mutants have evolved into a proper society and that in fact he's the monster because he is still going out and arbitrarily killing members of this new society.

Admittedly the film is very different but from the point of view of the book self sacrifice isn't a bad shout .

He isn't actually the last man on earth though in Book of Eli, but yeah.

Actually most of these movies aren't actually THE last man on earth...I'll be quiet.
