Phillip K Dick - Do androids dream of electric sheep (bladerunner)

2 of my fave books:D

2001: A Space Odyssey By A.C.Clarke. The book is better than the film, but what makes the film so good is A.Clarke collaborated with Stanley Kubrick on the screenplay.

Brave New World By Aldous Huxley. The T.V film starred Leonard Nimoy. Great thought provoking read:)

Watership Down

Brilliant book.

I knew I wasn't awake enough the other day - otherwise I wouldn't have missed out:
The Godfather - Mario Puzo: an unforgivable omission on my part really.
Rum Punch - Elmore Leonard (filmed by Tarantino as Jackie Brown): supposedly very good but I haven't got round to reading it yet.
Carlito's Way - Edwin Torres: another great gangster book.

If you want to be a bit sly then of course you could pick almost any of the classics (Shakespeare, Dickens, Dumas etc etc etc) as most have had films made about them.

no country for old men.

saying that I have not seen the film but the book is good.

and another vote for I am Legend film should not have been named after the book as they are completely separate things only the name is the same really, the book is amazing, short too, which is always a bonus.
