Spec me some sweet Tycoon games

One that I've spent a lot of time playing is pizza tycoon, running your own pizza chain spanning many cities, creating your own and trying to attract customers whilst handling staff. The interesting thing about it is the sub plot where you're also able to trade weapons on the black market, use them to damage other restaurants and try to force others out of business, dealing with banks, stock dealers, insurance companies whilst also competing with other restaurants. For a game of its age it is very detailed and has a lot of features.
 
Transport Tycoon was the Daddy, still playing it now on OpenTTD. As somebody else mentioned, Pizza Tycoon was good. Theme Park and Theme Hospital were ace as was the original Rollercoaster Tycoon. Still love the original Railroad Tycoon tho that I wasted years of my life on the Atari ST on ;)
 
Is there only one version of OpenTTD? Cos I swear I saw a version of Transport Tycoon where they imroved the graphics of it and it looks pretty neat... sure it was called Transport Tycoon 64 bit or sumin like that? I loved Transport Tycoon back in the day, but I can't play it with those graphics anymore, far too dated :(
 
Tsss, it's made to be played with those graphics. Imo new ones ruin it. What you want is 32bpp graphics though.
 
The problem with old games locked in a very low res in a lot of us run 24" screens or similar and it's painful to play them.

RollerCoaster Tycoon actually still looks alright on my 23" Samsung, it's more than playable and quite 'retro-chique'. :D
 
Been playing Evil Genius solidly for the last 2 days :( So much fun though :D

^ That base could be better designed, especially with regard to locker placement, love the initial corridor/security cam design though.

Started a thread on the subject. :p

Been ages since I've played it so just building rooms anywhere in the first scenario to get back into the swing of things. :)

I don't mean a complete overhaul, just high quality visuals thats all, that would only improve it!
 
Anyone else remember the game Beach Life? I still got my copy here, and just installed it, seems to work fine on Vista x64... heres a screenie I found to jog your memory:

Many hours of fun with this title, just started playing it again and the appeal is still there.
 
I liked the demo of Beach Life (in fact I was trying to remember the name of it when this thread was started), might see if I can pick it up cheap when i get bored of Evil Genius.
 
Theme Hospital, Theme park. Cant believe no one has mentioned dungeon keeper

transport tycoon is very good if you havent already played it
