Spec me some WW2 docs

Is that the series that goes into detail on Sleicher and how he thought he could control Hitler and exploit his popularity?
It might be, I think I watched it last year so not 100% sure. That period really is fascinating though, all of the people who thought they could benefit from their rise to power and got completely outmanoeuvred and side-lined before they knew what had hit them.

bullets. Bullets hit them.

"Ken Burns The War" is very good , recounts the war via ordinary small town Americans.
(The Ken Burns doc The Vietnam War is even better )

Don't know where it streams these days, might pop up on Pbs on Freeview etc from time to time.

From Wiki
The series focuses on World War II in a "bottom up" fashion through the lenses of four "quintessentially American towns":

The series recounts the experiences of a number of individuals from these communities as they move through the war in the Pacific, African and European theaters, and focuses on the effect of the war on them, their families and their communities.

I'm still plowing through the WW2 doc. Upto episode 6 now. Some really interesting stuff. Barbarossa battles in -40 conditions. Crazy stuff. The North Africa war was an eye opener, sand in engines forcing armour not to work, same with artillery. 99% sure my Grandad was over there at that time. Bloody good documentary.

Shoah
Night and Fog

Two more documentaries on the death camps with interviews with survivors and the perpetrators. Shoah is 9 hours long and is famous for interviews with camp guards which were secretly recorded without their knowledge.
