Bored, need to get out. Nice hotel, decent area where we can go for dinner and maybe a nice pub after. Just my wife and I.

Not too bothered about events.

Go!

Whilst this is begging for the usual North Wales seaside suggestion .... what's the weather doing this weekend ? Seems like snow and hence travel disruption all over the place. Can you hold fire a week.

EDIT: Suggestion from the wife: Go to Manchester and make sure to wear a number 7 Liverpool shirt.

One the “the Pig” restaurants? Have accommodation and great food (apparently). Not too much of a trek for you and no snow issues. Staying in one ourselves in a couple of weeks due to some great recommendations. Pricey.

Jump on a cheap flight to France or something. Weekend in Paris might give you some brownie points...
Otherwise, hang out in SC with the cool kids.

We went to Pig in the New Forest for a weekend and it was brilliant. Food was great, lots of nice walks and small nearby towns to visit as well.

Asked ChatGPT: "Recommend me a Nice hotel, decent area where we can go for dinner and maybe a nice pub after. Just my wife and I. Make it within 50 miles of London"

Sure, if you're looking for a nice hotel within 50 miles of London, I recommend the Pennyhill Park Hotel and Spa in Bagshot. It's a luxurious hotel set in a beautiful country estate, just a 40-minute drive from London. The hotel features multiple restaurants, including a fine-dining restaurant, a brasserie, and a pub-style restaurant.

For dinner, you could try The Tudor Room, the hotel's Michelin-starred restaurant, which offers modern British cuisine in an elegant setting. Alternatively, The Brasserie offers a more casual dining experience with a focus on locally sourced ingredients.

After dinner, you could head to The Ascot Bar, located in the hotel's main building. It's a cozy spot with a fireplace, where you can enjoy a drink or two before heading back to your room.

Overall, Pennyhill Park Hotel and Spa offers a relaxing and romantic getaway, perfect for a night away with your wife.
