Speccing a new PC!

Raw power mate.

Faster encoding/editing etc.

I guess it depends how serious you are with what you say you use the PC for.

well primary use is gaming, the media encoding is mostly gameplay for my youtube channel, i cant believe the 3770k would be incapable in comparison or that much slower...?

so what would i gain going for a 3770k? better mobo? or ram? or money to spend elsewhere?

I have a feeling you are starting to troll us :p

I can tell you for sure that by spending more on mobo and getting 3770K rig for same price as 3930K as you wanted to do, you will not gain anything at all and that is for sure.

Gaming? We said if you want gaming get 3570K and for leftover you can get 690 if your budget is around 1300.

and tbh there is no need to even bother with 3570K or 3770K with your current CPU, it is fine... Getting 3570K would be a step down from i7 to i5, getting 3770K as I mentioned 100 times before would not boost your performance as you imagine it will do.

So as far as my common sense goes, 3930K is the only sensible option especially when it costs similair as you wanted to spend on 3770k

why would i troll a forum ive been a member of for coming up to 5 years...

im just concerned about making the right choice when im throwing around over a grand...

I dont need a new graphics card i have a gtx 670 which runs everything max.

So a 3770k would be no different AT ALL to a 3930k? at the same spend between the two?

A 3770K is no different to a 3930K when gaming.

When doing the tasks such as encoding/rendering etc, the 3930K is faster.

But is this extra speed worth the cost to you when the priority is gaming with the other uses an after thought so to speak.

well the budget is the budget, its got to be spent and i dont need a new graphics card.

Forgot to mention i also write computer music which is cpu intensive running so many instruments, not sure id ableton (the software) supports 6 cores but having that power would help a lot i think!

I guess sticking to the 3930k is going to be the best choice then for the same money as i would spend on a 3770k.
