Is that not just a search, rather than a detention in its own right?

That is one scenario whereby someone could be detained as far as I am aware.

PCSO's have no powers of arrest where as Specials have all the powers that any regualar officer has.

A PCSO can make a citizens arrest, and I think BTP PCSOs can arrest fully, they also carry cuffs.

I assume you're a PC?

No i used to be a Special, most of my friends are PC's.

Nice one, when was that then? Ages ago or recently? I definatly wouldnt do it for free!

My partner (in the policing sense) used to be a Special in the early 90's (think it was then) and said that was a good laugh.
