Specsavers me some tyres

The sidewalls are made from cheddar and despite being highly rated tyres and the top of the range product for one of the worlds lagrest manufacturers, they are actually HORRIBLE NON PERFORMANCE CAR TYRES designed for SMALL SUPERMINI's and they don't stand up to proper performance car driving such as delivering Pizza in a Saxo, etc.

:p

hehehe :)

I think I'll discount them then. Feel is quite important and I want them to last longer than 5 minutes.

So:

Toyo Proxes T1-R
Toyo Proxes T1-S
Conti N2

I'm swaying towards the Conti's at the moment.

I think the T1-S are better. Ive got T1-R's now and Im convinced they arent as good.
Still pretty good though, and the T1-S seems quite hard to get hold of in some sizes.

But whether they are the tyres to go for I dont know. I simply havent tried enough alternatives to know. :)

I run F1's but not on a proper performance car, and have had no problems with excessive wear. I know Bear said he runs them on his SX, but Lordmike in his MR2 said they wore a bit quick IIRC.

If it were me I'd go for the Conti's. Running that sort of power, with a bit of spirited driving, I think they could wear quicker than Conti's. Awesome in the wet though..seriously.

Edit: sorry L0rdmike

Its a ZERO 00000 ;)

One of my F1's lasted under 5k on my car but I think it is more or a tracking issue.

The one on the other side looked iffy to.

sorry i dont own a car im only 14 and just bored . . .

I was told this was a good forum by the Pistonhead guys, they didnt get it wrong did they?

Nah mate, we're a good lot. We've just had to put up with *********** in the past.

A lot of the members here will gladly put up their hands and say 'ok, I admit, I was wrong'.

I know it's a bit sad that you have to prove that you own something, but with so many scrotes in this world claiming they own things that belong to their dad, you can't really blame us for being just a little bit dubious :)

That's what we get here regularly I'm afraid.

Nope, they were right - it is a good forum, partly because we try our best to keep the 14 year old dreamers out.

yeah we have a few of those on the porsche forum on Pistonheads. I understand, I also forgot I was not posting on PH when i mentioned my car . . . . then realised I will prolly get a few questions.

Ive just fitted 4 Toyo Proxie T1-S tyres to my FTO, I couldnt find a definitive answer as to which were better, the R or the S. Ended up going for the S in the end, havent had them on long enough to rate them.

The R is slightly more expensive, so that does imply they are a better tyre.

OK, I'll be needing 4 new tyres pretty soon, rears because they are almost slick, and fronts because the previous owner thought it would be a good idea to fit some 'champiros'

Fronts are 225/45/17
Rears are 255/40/17

I was all set on getting some Eagle F1 GSD3's, @ £125 each for the rears, £106 each for the fronts, fully fitted from etyres.

The cheese sidewall thing has got me thinking though :(

Any other suggestions for similar money?

Dont diss the champiro's! Got some on my clio and they grip well. Not a bad budget tyre at all.

:p
