SPECTRE Bond24 discussion [Please use spoiler tags when discussing the plot]

These new bonds seem to suffer from the 24 treatment. Its always him having ot go against his employers because they are stupid as hell and/or corrupt and to do his job/save the day he has to break the rules.

Have you ever seen any of the old Bonds? It's a basic trope of the whole series.

Just booked tickets for 8pm on 26 October

Cool  .... I really want to see this on release day, but need to get kiddysitters arranged.

So, what do we thing of Sam Smith doing the title track?... I can't say I've heard much of his stuff, so will reserve judgement until I hear it. What I've have listened too is okay, which is what I thought of Adele, and I loved her Skyfall theme...... so, we'll see.

I thought the Bond films with Connery, Moore and even the one with Lazenby have never been equalled.

I have not enjoyed any of the ones since, and whilst I think Daniel Craig is up to the job, the plot lines in his films have been very poor...

I will watch it, but only when it comes to TV.

heard the song this morning - total garbage.
i think it really is the worst bond song ever, and there have been some bad ones.

listening to the song for the second time, the first time was on my mobile and it was bad.

Its better through a stereo, however it is not a bond song and the high pitched singing just kills it. Its terrible.

The them in the back ground gives me shivers though.

Yup, song is trash. Not surprised it took him 20 minutes to "write" (when he says write, he means come up with some rubbish little tune and get someone actually talented to orchestrate it)

The first 10-15 seconds of classic bond orchestral music (the bit that was in the song teaser) is glorious. Then it all goes to ****.

Yea not a fan of that.
Just when it starts to build up and you think it might get good, he kills it (not in a good way) with that falsetto :(

Oh wow that was actually terrible... totally wrong (male) voice for it - that kind of style works for female vocals in a bond theme but so wrong for male.

EDIT: Couple of tweaks to make it a little less "bright" sounding and redo the vocals with Seth MacFarlane (not a joke) or someone with that kind of voice it would be pretty good though.

Hmm if he didn't go all squeaky it might not have been so bad, but there is way too much falsetto. The orchestration is nice, and very bondian, but his voice seems all wrong to me. It has grown on me after a few listens, but Skyfall (which I think it a great theme) its not.
