Speech on Xbox live

Hi there,

Finally got round to activating my xbox live gold account yesterday (had it since August 2007 :eek:

) and was having a bash at COD4 and although I could hear some voices, some were cutting in and out like crazy.

Is this normal or are there some settings I should change somewhere ?

Could it also have something to do with my 2Mb broadband connection, even though the action was silky smooth !

Run the Test in the systems blade and look at your NAT status. If its moderate or strict I believe that can affect speech among other things.

Could be a problem on their end and not yours. Happens with me too sometimes.

I'll check out my NAT status. To be honest, the speech I could hear was a little annoying since it was americans slating Brits.

Is it possible to turn off other peoples speech so you can only hear people you want to ?

Just read that through and it does sound a bit much to ask for

You can mute individual players, press the guide, go to players, then bring up their profile and there is a mute option. You just get used to it

Yeah you can mute individual people when on their gamer tag.

Oh and get used to being told to brush your teeth or drink some tea when they notice your British

You can block communications with people if you enter their gamercard (i think you can do this with randoms and not just people on your friends list)

I rarely have my mic on, Brits vs Americans on COD4 is squabbling is just annoying.

You can set your privacy settings to mute everyone if you wanted, or mute everyone not on your friends list, saves muting 1000 American's every night, shame there is no option to just mute per country

I would hate to mute everybody. Then I wouldn't be able to hear them going metal because I killed them. :cool:

Yeah I played some guy on GH3 last night, he thought I was a girl because I picked a female character I heard "Im going to kick this girls ass" half way throught he song I heard "Holy **** she hasn't missed a note yet"
