On way to work this morning...

Got shot by camera facing me...

I reckon I was abt 40mph in 30mph zone...

will the camera have an image of me driving as it was facing me?

Ive only got 1 point left and i am within 2 years of having just passed...

I have someone else insured on car so if they didnt picture me then they will cop the points..

pls advise

yeh it was a fixed camera BUT it was facing me....cuz it was early i dont know whether it shot my car or one on the other side of road...

either way it was a fixed camera facing me (so on my side off road) and i just wanted to know if they are the ones that take pictures of driver?

Was it a GATSO (Grey Pole and a Yellow Box) or a Truvello, with 3 Lenses, one Red?

Edit: So did it take a photo of the front or rear of your car?
 
the front of the car...

it was a yellow camera with a big round circle...

it didnt have 3 lenses (off which was red)

it was yellow with one big hole....i think the pole was grey though...

edit: put it this way if it did get my face...will they want a man's license? lol

It sounds like a Gatso. Was it on the other side of the road?

If it's a Gatso, then I don't believe you will have been 'caught'. Gatso's are only used to catch drivers driving away from them. They do occasionally flash oncomming drivers, but I believe that this is not something that will result in a NIP being issued.

Sounds like you have been lucky.

Seriously though. Driving for less than 2 years, you're already on 5 points and still driving through a 30mph zone at 40mph?! You really need to think about your driving habits imo.

I had 5 points because my license was previously revoked and I got caught driving without a license...therefore when I resat theory and practical test the magistrates told me they would take 5 points away hence the remaining 1 point this time...

Im stuffed arent I? especially as I was driving...which means even if I sent my spouses license in they wouldnt have it would they cuz of the picture?

all thoughts would be appreciated..

Yeh, if it was a Truvello, they do forward facing..

They dont flash because they're Infa Red..
 
it definately flashed and it was definately a truvello...

I reckon it flashed but a work colleague is saying it shouldnt have flashed especially as it was a truvello, i went back during lunch time and it says "truvello" on the grey pole...

So wtf am i on about cuz they dont flash period!!!

Perhaps it was a reflection or something from the camera...

You do realise that that is admitting to perverting the course of justice and quite a few people have gone to jail for that?

Ok.....erm......DON'T DO 40MPH IN A 30 ZONE WHEN YOU HAVE 5 POINTS ON YOUR LICENSE. How's that?

They do 'flash' - I was following a motorbike that triggered one. It gives off a purple flash. Your only get out is if it was out of film or something.
 
Get caught, might aswell take the hit. Its only worse if u lie and get found out, which may happen if the photo gets a snap of the driver
 
I'm not sure where the idea that Truvelo's have an IR flash came from, they have a normal flash with a magenta filter on it - I've had one go off in my face before (I wasn't speeding though, so no idea why it went off, never heard anything) and it's not pleasant really.

Yes they'll have a photo of you driving, so I really wouldn't try and pass it off as somebody else driving :)
