My dad was sent a letter saying he was caught doing 115 mph, at 8:00am.. in a 40 zone, and in the transit van. Obviously this is ridiculous for more reasons than I can list, but he has to fill in the form and send it back. What else should he do, any chance it could go to court, or will they realize what a stupid mistake it was to even send him the letter, and even apologize?

Thoughts..

Edit:
He phoned the Lancashire Constabulary, they looked at the film inside the fixed camera and said it was a mistake - it went off because of a reflective glow from the lorry infront. He was infact doing 37mph. No problem as I thought.;)

It depends if he did it or not? How do you know it is a mistake? Some of the higher powered vans can probably manage 115 downhill...

Does his van look like this?

Seriously , can a transit even do a 115mph?

Because he was driving at 8:00am when the roads are very busy, his van is loaded with heavy equipment no chance it can go 115mph..

You honestly think this is possible???

Lol Berger.

Well with speedo inaccuracies it would be showing over 130mph, I doubt anyone is that stupid to do that speed in a 40mph at 8am.

I dont know, i would have thought that it is conceivably possible, yes.

Who was the letter from?
The credibility of it depends on who its from, I also wouldv thought that for such an offence it would be a summons.
