Speeding offence cancelled.

Bored 101 operator on a wind up and laughing at how much more trouble you are going to get yourself into.

I've very mixed feelings about the van speed limits though - especially on dual-carriageways they seem very out of date but then my dual-cab pickup for example unloaded on touring tyres stops "on a dime", on off-road tyres or with a load that can be a very different story, then obviously you have the weight difference in an impact.

My wife got a speeding ticket in the post a few months ago, 78 in a 70. She sent of the letter for the speed awareness course the same evening, but the very next day she got another letter from Sussex police in the post saying that her speeding offence had been cancelled: "Upon reviewing the circumstances surrounding this matter, it has been identified that a clerical error has occurred in the issue of this notice."
Strange that it was the very next day, but she didn't complain!
Whether it’s related or not, 78 in a 70 is below the trigger point in the Police’s guidance for issuing a speeding ticket.

I did think that when the first letter arrived, but thought they might be getting stricter. Either way, we were pleased with the end result.

Out of interest, was this on the M23?
