I wasn't given anything I guess it was a verbal NIP ???
youve all got me wondering why i stick to the bloody speed limits!
yeah but isnt anything over 100 an auto ban anyway
were you read you rights ?
if they read you your rights that means they're going to prosecute you. If he didnt, and they didnt give you any bits of paper ive no idea what hes playing at.
pinkaardvark said:bad luck there. I drive the A1M between huntingdon to just past peterborough ie onto the duel carriageway bit then off at the a47 and everyone does 90+ on the 4 lane bit, it's hard not too as it's a massive road that is straight as an arrow, flat and with very little traffic. Must remember to keep my speed down on there as have seen plenty of folks tugged by unmarked cars including a mondeo st220.
yes he said somthing like "Anything I said could be used as eveidence etc etc"
Assuming he is the registered keeper that is correct. If he isn't (i.e. it is a company car) then it could be a lot longer14 days give or take a few days leeway for postal delays when sent a NIP, so roughly 18 days and you should be ok, thats not an absolute figure though.
Thanks for thatmuch appreciated...so I guess they could even give me a ban for a few months if they wanted ?? or is it more likely 6 points and a fine??
well, they sent me my summons in the endit was for the 28th I decided not to attend and wrote a letter of apology. I got the result in the post today...3 points and a £30 fine plus £20 costs and £15 victim costs.
I am quite pleased with that to be honest I thought they would give me a huge fine. I think it was a lot to do with the fact I told them in my letter that "I treated my licence as a privlage and not a right to drive".
I havent gone even a mile an hour over the speed limit since
