Now the question “are speedstep and overclocking compatible?”

Now I understand whilst benchmarking and stability checking its a good idea to tern speedstep off, but i like the idea of saving the planet (well honestly its more my electricity bills) and i don't really think i need my quad going at 3Gh whilst I'm surfing the web do I. I take it that speedstep will also make the CPU last a bit longer

Are there any stability issues loss of overclocking settings that speedstep creates?

I should be getting my bits some time this month, just need to organise a day to work form home. I wont be over clocking straight off probably in a month or two when I know everything works.

As I understand it speedstep is fine to be used in conjunction with overclocking. I tend to disable it though whilst finding my stable OC then re-enable it when I'm happy, although this isnt actually necassary lol

do you notes any loss of performance's when your got everything under full load or is it the same as when you have speedstep disabled?

Under load it is the same as with it disabled, no difference. But when not under load it's saving power :). If your not encountering any problems with your overclock then just leave it on, under load it will be just as fast, and for surfing the web or doing nothing you don't need 3Ghz quad core :p.
