OK, i have ~£15k (max £15500) to spend on my next car, what should i buy?

Criteria is pretty much;
5 seater (consider 4)
MPG would like 30+ combined
Tax £260 or less
Couple years old max
Not silly insurance (loathe to pay over £600)
Quickish (7s 0-60 or less)
20k or less on the clock

Have been looking at;
Corsa VXR Nurburgring
Seat Ibiza Cupra
Renaultsport Clio 200
Mini JCW

So either shoot the above options down in flames and/or come up with an alterntive(s).

Fire away! :D

You could reduce your budget to £10k and still get cars very similar to those in your list.

Corsa VXR Nurburgring... you won't get one of them for £15k to start with.

Do you mean the Astra VXR Nurburgring?

Here we go again.

Not sure if that's having a go at me? I can see 59' Renault Clio 200's, and Corsa VXRs for under £10k that look to be in very good condition and i thought i'd make the OP aware of this? Why spend another £5000 on something which is nearly the same?

He was saying he sounds like his mother in a joke like fashion, it's not a difficult joke to grasp

Thanks for that Einstein. My confused smiley was meant to be me confused at the flippant comment from the OP. :rolleyes:

Focus ST - had one, don't want another
Corsa Nurburg are 16k with a few miles on the clock, 15500 should be do able.
Astra Nurburg - had one, don't want another

Surely going from a Focus ST/Astra VXR to a Corsa VXR is going to be a downgrade? Or am I missing something?

None of your cars are an upgrade from a Focus ST/Astra really, what car have you currently got?

I can't think of anything with your criteria that would be an upgrade tbh.

Well it was 4-5 years ago. I've also had a Z4M and a VXR8 which were great.

To clarify...my 'here we go again' comment was in anticipation of another thread where a member doesn't appreciate reasonable advice and thereby causes a massive argument unrelated to his original question.

However can I point out that spending £10k instead of £15k does not always get you the spec you originally wanted. Sometimes there are just no second hand cars that fit the bill.
