Spider Noir

Effects in the trailer look a bit naff, but the biggest issue with the whole thing is Nicholas Cage.

This is going to one place, and one place only...

I'm all for the look and it'll be how I'm watching it however can see the 'general' audience moaning if there isn't a colour version.

Lets hope not, it can do a great job of setting the tone in that sort of series/movie, black and white can look beautiful when done right. You never know, Sin City did very well back in the day, albeit 21 years ago now, good god do I feel old.

I’m always willing to give Nic Cage a chance. Sure he will bring the energy. With the source material being noir style. He was good in Bad Lieutenant.

I'll give this a watch at some point. When Nic Cage tries he can do a great job, if given decent material.
No idea if I'll watch it in colour or B&W, both are quite stylised; rather than colour and mono.

Watched E01 and I`m slightly disappointed but its worth a watch I think. The visual style and setting are the star of the show

B+W should be good on an OLED or a decent mini led TV.

On lesser TV`s B+W will probably look far from its best so color would work better.
Luckily I do have OLED and MiniLED, so I'm in a good position; as both presentations are stylised it's going to be a 'how I'm feeling at the time' decision I think

Seen 2 episodes so far in tru hue full colour.....its pretty average sadly.

Nick Cage (he legally changed his name to this last year apparently!) is the main star main attraction...everyone else in the cast are pretty average TV level actors (except for Brenda Gleeson but he is wasted in his small extended cameo role). The story is pretty jumbled & unclear at times.

Cage carries the show on his own really & they use very little of his spidey powers so when he does need to use them it seems a little more special!

10/10 for period settings & 1930s atmosphere.
10/10 for seamless FX use.
10/10 for Nick Cage he gives it all he has and then some.

5/10 for the writing and script. Those are the big letdown its just not a must watch at all would have been better as a standalone movie instead of being padded over 8 episodes with as usual way too many characters who serve little purpose.
