Spiders again , nasty yellow but harmless

Don't mind spiders as such, but I have just had to swat a bloody "something" (Wasp?) that was the size of my bloody thumb :eek:!

(Really, It was Big, Yellow and Black, and about 2" long! :eek: :eek: )

If I see any more of these things I am going to want a black market AK or something! Mere fly spray aint going to do it! :(

Sounds like the Japanese Hornets that have 'invaded' the UK again. Saw one (so I believe) myself; it died on someone's parcel shelf in my work car park so took a couple of snaps. I'll upload a clear one later, see if anyone can distinguish what the hell it really is, if possible from the pic.
 
This thread does not help any sufferers of arachnophobia, that's for sure. Weird how so many people hate spiders, despite the many other creepy crawlys out there.

I was about 14 years old sitting in my bed watching TV when I noticed a piece of fluff falling from the ceiling when it suddenly dawned on me it was actually a spider falling directly onto my chest.

I took evasive action and rolled side ways out of the bed praying to the gods I would get out of the way before the spider touched downed.

Mission accomplished I ran out of the room like a little girl hurriedly closing the door shut behind me before sleeping on a 3 seater in the living room.

My mum woke up about 6:30 to get ready for work and like the heroes mums are she slayed the spider and I demanded to see it's corpse before venturing back into my bed for the last hours sleep.

I believe this was the moment my fear of spiders seemed justified and I got into the paranoid habit of surveying a rooms walls and ceilings as I enter
