Spielberg & Hanks 3rd WW2 series

My only concern with the aerial setting is a potential lack of variety, episodes could become a bit samey. I think that's partly why BoB was so good, because one minute they were in basic training in England, then they were parachuting into France, then later they were fighting in the snowy forests of the Ardennes and seeing the effects of the holocaust for the first time. It was like we were on that journey of discovery with them.

With no disrespect meant, bombing raids seem like they could become a bit monotonous. Hopefully I'm wrong.

This sounds awesome. The article seems to suggest that maybe later in the series the characters get shot down and capture. Maybe some POW stuff in there too?

Best news i have heard, i think Spielberg and hanks will have a good idea it will need variety in it while sticking with the source material, can't wait!

Exactly what I was thinking but if done right I wouldnt mind seeing ~12 episodes of bombing raids Speilberg style :D

It'd be great if it included some of the escort fighters into an episode like the Red Tails, and show George Lucas how it's supposed to be done (you chump!).

I can't see 10-16 one hour episodes of Memphis Belle style bombing being that interesting as a story. They must have a plan for episodes outside that very narrow storyline.
