Spielberg & Hanks 3rd WW2 series

I agree with the above, hoping its similar in quality to BoB. I've watched the full series about 6 times but have only watched The Pacific once and don't plan on watching it again...

I actually really enjoyed The Pacific, thought it was pretty damn good, I certainly wouldn't rate it as lowly as some of the posts in this thread. Band of Brothers is one of the best things to ever appear on TV and just because The Pacific didn't live up to that standard doesn't make it rubbish in any way. :)

I really wish Spielberg would make an epic 4hr WW2 movie. Stalingrad. epic.

Bring some new cinematics in. Saving Private Ryan pretty much blew all previous WW2 films out of the water (not the best turn of phrase).

My only concern with the aerial setting is a potential lack of variety, episodes could become a bit samey. I think that's partly why BoB was so good, because one minute they were in basic training in England, then they were parachuting into France, then later they were fighting in the snowy forests of the Ardennes and seeing the effects of the holocaust for the first time. It was like we were on that journey of discovery with them.

With no disrespect meant, bombing raids seem like they could become a bit monotonous. Hopefully I'm wrong.

+1

Would be cool if they actually did the filming from one of the closed down RAF bases here in England, like they did for Memphis Belle - RAF Binbrook, Lincolnshire, a few miles from where I am.

All sorts of epic! So glad they are making this, I echo the sentiments of others about the involvments oft he other allied countries. Be nice to see one on Pegasus Bridge or Dunkrik but as long as they are making something I'm happy.

Will have to go a long long way to replace BOB as my all time, best ever, WW2 genre DVD.

The teaser is private. Did someone save a copy? :D

EDIT: I don't know if it's a teaser for Master of the Air. You can find it on YouTube by searching for mighty eighth.

Hmm, The CGI does look a little off but it did in the pacific also. I hope they do this justice as I have always wanted a modern day "Memphis Bell"

I thought it might have been a fake trailer but the internals of the B-17 look accurate and some of the other effects look good.
