So how does this DRM thing work? Is there no way to remove it from a file? What about if I just use another program to record it while its playing and make a new copy?

Not true, it's illegal to circumvent the copy protection. If you can reproduce a disk exactly then its legal to do so. If it has no copy protection then its also ok to backup as your not breaking any anti-piracy protections.
I don't think you can reproduce an exact copy of a dvd easily, and even if you did you'd have to use dual layer disks. Anything that doesn't have copy protection probably isn't worth watching anyway tbh.
Either way you get the same result, but it does mean your rights aren't as limited as they might of seemed.
well for starters its a complete joke that they even started attacking guitar tab websites... barely anybody buys tab books, and most artists don't even have tab books available...Im 100% sure sales wouldn't have increased for tab books either since this attack on music happened.
but if there was a service that showed a short ad before downloading a 100% accurate guitar pro file of a song, i'd endorse that. People can get MP3's easily anyway for any source, be it illegal or legal...good guitar tabs used to be very easy to get from sites like www.mysongbook.com,but now with their downloading disabled its harder.

Got anything to back that up? I'm not being funny 'cause I don't have any links to hand, its just I was looking it up a bit yesterday and that was my final interpretation of it all.
