Here be the rules -

1) Treat other posters with respect. Do not belittle their club or use unflattering nicknames for either the poster, their club or anyone associated with the club including players - if you're in any doubt then don't use the phrase or email a moderator prior to use.

2) The SPL thread is only for discussion of footballing matters - you may feel strongly about something your club has done in the past or something another club has done but this is not the thread to discuss it in.

3) Don't bait other fans in an attempt to get them to respond insensibly, that's covered by the general prohibition against trolling - if you do this then you can expect repercussions.

4) These rules are simply an extension to the standard Football Stadium rules here, they still apply so do yourself a favour and make sure you're acquainted with both sets before posting.

5) Try to enjoy yourself and let others do the same. It's unfortunate that the rules need to be spelled out in such a fashion but we don't want to see anyone banned because of a lack of clarity.

Right lads, bhoys and bears, let's not let this thread get off to a bad start and at no time do we want banter truning into outright baiting. The world is watching so let's behave ourselves while also poking gentle fun at our nearest rivals everytime they slip up.

Aberdeen 4-0 Hamilton Accies
Motherwell 2-3 Hibernian
Rangers 2-1 Kilmarnock
Inverness Caley 0-1 Celtic
St Mirren 1-1 Dundee Utd
Hearts 1-1 St Johnstone

Aberdeen top the table for now with Celtic, Rangers and Hibernian only sitting behind due to goal difference. Let's see how things pan out over the next few weeks.

clampdown on rule breaks

From now there will be zero tolerance of trolling, trouble causing and sectarian posting

Celtic and Rangers will be referred to as Celtic and Rangers and nothing else, what some consider acceptable others do not

Punishments will go in stages

1 - Infraction
2 - 7 Day suspension
3 - 14 day suspension
4 - 28 day suspension and removal of Sports Arena access rights

Members who already have history may start at the 7 day suspension level

Off topic but trying to sort out something I find particularly annoying.

McRod, three posts in three minutes! Please condense them into one post or it looks (to me anyway) as if you are simply trying to up your post count. It is also stated in the rules of decorum for this thread that no baiting or insults are allowed so please, no more 'Septic' comments.

Lafferty last season and McGregor this season. It makes you wonder just what kind of training goes on at Murray Park. Finally about Rangers, how many times is Weir going to be allowed to grab opposition players by the throat before the refs do something about it? It's a straight red card according to the rules.

Celtic looked very comfortable today and made the demolition of St Mirren look particularly easy when you consider the amount of times we hit the woodwork. Forrest took his goal well and is looking like a very able replacement for McGeady. Ki's goal is up their with McCourts as early contenders for goal of the season.

Well done Aberdeen for not falling at their regular hurdle. Maybe they'll make a season of it this year as the way they where playing last year, with their dodgy results, had them looking like relegation material before the season had even started.

Celtic where hamstrung by two amazingly soft penalties. Twenty minutes in and the tie was back level with only a dodgy challenge outside the box to pin any blame on (although the whistle happy referee gave a penalty).

Definite bit of contention regarding Rangers first goal. To quote Richard Gough -

'That wouldn't have been given at the other end of the field'

I'll need to wait on the highlights to see just how bad it is.

Motherwell 0-1 Celtic
St Mirren 1-0 Hibernian

Celts go top of the table on goal difference. Celts where pretty ineffective until Samaras was subbed, here's hoping some team is stupid enough to buy him before the transfer window closes.

The wheels will come off Celtics band wagon soon enough. It always does

In your dreams boy. Celtic have looked pretty comfortable so far and with a new addition or two over the next few days I expect us to walk the league this year. As soon as Rangers get a few injuries in their depleted squad, the wheels will fall off their wagon, although a few honest mistakes may help to rectify any games where it looks like you are about to drop points.

Over half of the SPL managers complained about 'honest' mistakes that went the way of Rangers last year and amounted to a lot points being won by your team, more than the eventual points gap that you held over Celtic at the end of the season. Here's a Dundee Utd game for you to watch with your blue tinted glasses on?

Do I also need to post the video of a certain top flight referee singing your theme tune?

I am aware the the Dundee Utd clip is not from last season but it shows just how much favour Rangers seem to get from the officials. When over half of the SPL managers complain about referees in games against Rangers last season, you can't reasonably argue that you simply get the rub of the green from time to time. None so blind as those who will not see.

Again, spell Celtic properly or I will have to assume you are doing it on purpose to annoy.

So the Green Brigade bhoys spelt a banner wrong, okay, but two wrongs...... I'm more upset that they used Riordan as an example of great players who have moved to Celtic from Hibs.

I'm almost tempted to post pics of the bus banner that was trumped at Ibrox. It shows that spell checkers are not used on both sides with the Rangers banner stating O'ffended.

Anyhoo, back to the footie. Celts draw ICT in the League Cup but our little friends from the north aren't going to upstage us this year. Here's hoping that this will be the first cup in the bag on the way to the treble.

What hatred would that be McRod?

I'm hoping Paddy can silence a lot of people by doing his regular jink past four players before curling a beautiful shot past the keeper when he plays against Rangers. That would put him on a par with Kris Boyd in Old Firm goals.

Celtic come back from a goal down to beat Killie 2-1. Pretty disjointed in the first half but much better ij the second. Not playing too well away from home but still grinding out the wins, such is the thing that champions are made of.
