Splinter Cell HD Trilogy

Chaos Theory was the peak for me. Double Agent was good, but could have been better. Conviction was a pain in the arse. Having to melee kill someone to use the execution function was ridiculous. You either ended up with lone guys wandering about conveniently leaving their backs turned all the time, or you had to leg it into a firefight, lamp someone, then run out again and execute everyone that way.

Looking forward to this, played all these on the PC, so it would be great if they are ported from that - Chaos Theory was the best imo though :D

I'm just disappointed with the delay its taken to be released. Was originally supposed to be out July 22nd (today) but then it's been delayed to Sept 23rd. Cmon Ubisoft!

Much rather games delayed these days than rushed...

Yet Duke Nukem Forever falls into both categories. Ohhh I went there.

Thankfully that is the one big comeback to my comment, and I fully agree lol.

What a fail that was.

But on the whole, games that are delayed a few months due to bugs being found at the last min always gets a bit of head turn from my self.

Means the devs are working on the game rather than looking at the forecast sales figures :)

:D

I agree though, I'd rather them make sure the game is ready for release than release it half finished and then bring a bunch of patches out soon after the launch.

I liked Pandora the best I have to say. I loved the atmosphere and some of the levels were truely awesome (the train, the thunderstorm level near the end, the first level by the coast, the sneaking through the fields level - too many to list).

I still have my Xbox versions, hated Conviction though (the biggest butchering of a once decent franchise I've ever seen/played) which was basically Gears Of War starring Sam Fisher. Ubisoft should be ashamed of themselves. Double Agent was ok but I didn't like the way the light and dark stealth mechanic was dropped.

As for this Hd Collection where did you get that release date? The last official news I heard was that the game had been delayed on Ps3 until "further notice" and although rumoured a 360 version has never been announced to my knowledge.

A quick Google of the game name will bring up your answer regarding release date. As for a release on 360 I know it's been rumoured but I'm sure it's PS3 exclusive.

As I said it has been delayed several times since the release date was announced (Ps3) so the google search simply brings up old news. You are quite right about the 360 version being ESRB rumoured but nothing concrete has been confirmed yet. I would prefer to own the Hd version on 360 if I had the choice, but if it doesn't appear on the platform and actually eventually comes out in the end on the Ps3 only I'll still pick up a copy.

I was always a Metal Gear fan, and I played the first splinter cell and was bias against it, played it, but not far. I'm actually glad this HD rerelease is inbound, as I am more than willing to give them another shot.

I'll definitely pick up the Metal Gear HD collection too, but I do think the MGS series has lost its way and become more of an action game than a stealth game.

Really can't wait for this now. Just watched some footage of the 1st Splinter Cell on YouTube and the whole game came flooding back.

If you haven't played a Splinter Cell before then this is a must try as these 3 games are amazing, and this is coming form a MGS fan.

I like the game a lot but PSN+ can go **** itself. £8 for a 10 year old game with PC textures.

I honestly have no idea if Playstation makes anything from selling games on-line through the PS3, the prices are ridiculous. Will this come out as a retail copy or will it be on-line only?

Yes it's an old game, but at the end of the day, £8 (£6.39 on PS+) is absolutely sod all. It's not as if they're trying to charge £20 or £30 for it.

If you've never played it before (and I must admit that it's a series that passed me by), it's priced cheaper than some of the indie/budget stuff these days.

I'll agree that that prices for some of the newer mainstream stuff is shocking though.

Absolutely no chance in hell i'm paying £8. I'm too used to Steam pricing, the trilogy was £5 on Steam, or something like £1.99 a game. Sony can go **** them selves with this pricing, was really looking forward to this too.
