Not really sure how I could have described it in the title but i'll explain it better here :)

Well when I open winamp and I have teampspeak open, for example, when I turn the volume down in Winamp the volume for the entire computer goes down also. Such as voices on teamspeak go quieter.

All I want is the music to go quieter and to seperate the volume from all the other programs.

Anyone know how I can fix this?

The only way you can do what you want is to get another sound device. From my experience after having encountered your problem, getting a second sound device is by far the easiest and most effective way.

The easiest solution would be a USB headset, it appears as a sound card and has it's own volume controls like any other sound device does. Another benefit is that you can tell TS (or any app that lets you select playback devices) to play it's sound over the headset whilst keeping game/music sound on your speaker system (if you wanted to).

If you don't want to buy a USB headset then you can use a second sound card. Use your onboard sound for the headset and get a decent sound card or if you like your onboard just get a cheap soundcard for the headset.

I use my onboard sound for my default sound device and an xbox live headset for my VoIP stuff. The XBL headset is connected to a USB port and I have installed drivers from the Internet but it operates as any USB headset.

Any ideas where? I've looked through preferences.

Sorry mate no. I was sure that what I was talking about was in winamp's preferences somewhere but you're right.... :(

I know that Creative sound cards have this option deffo though so I may have been talking about that..

On winamp preferences, make sure you are using Direct Sound for output and not Wave Output. This should allow independent volume control. :)

Doesn't seem to be working...

Not sure if i'm doing it right... Under the plugins output section in preferences?

Yeah, select DirectSound and click close. Then restart winamp. Works ok for me

Didn't think of restarting it... *slaps self*

Worked a treat, cheers mate. :)

vista also sorts this. you have a slider for each app currently open on the main windows volume dialog. :)
