Split with girlfriend

We had ups and downs but she was the first girl I ever loved. Had been going out for 18 months but recently I've felt that something wasn't right and when I asked if she wanted to be with me she said she hasn't felt the same. It's probably the best way to end things, I just don't know how I'm going to face seeing her again.

Feel all messed up.

Hmm.. well jsut be greatful that you werent together for 36 months and she didnt break up with you because she found a german guy to love instead...

Thanks for your replies. Am not going to cali, may head back to Norwich though to see my family, want to see them.

Wasn't exactly mutual, I asked if it was a break or a break up, was the latter unfortunately. Will be hard though. She said she wants to remember the good times and doesn't want us to be unable to see each other, i'm just not sure If I can see someone I love on a friends basis, will just hurt.

Hehe its fine... it wasnt as much a clear cut problem as that but im not really angry at her or anything... to tell the truth I still love her but i want her to be happy... even if that means that she's with another guy.

I know how you feel mate, ive just split up with my girlfriend and was even thinking of planning to propose a few months ago. all went wrong & the break-up was kinda mutual aswell but am very upset still and havent spoken to her for ages, we dont even see or text each other anymore its all gone downhill.

you will get over it, just make sure you are with your mates lots and have a good time, do stuff you want to do and try and forget things. i know its hard.

. I went through the same thing last year and I'm just about over it, although we were seeing each other for 4 years and I was going to propose to her when she finished uni.

Chin up fella and do what I did, went to the pub with my mates and finally got my social life back in order, I'm now having the time of my life

. It will get better regardless of how you feel right now dude.

im going through the same thing at the moment, split up from my gf of 3 and a half years a month ago, quite easy to do at the time but now its hard. the biggest problem i found is the lack of a life, your relationship dominates it and when it goes there ain't much left. But you can rebuild it.
the b**** i was with has been making it more difficult by flaunting the guy she cheated on me with in front of me at every chance she can. and believe me that hurts.

Went through exactly the same kind of thing last july. 18 months, first love etc. In november she told me she was actually cheating on me. I still can't talk to her because I havent forgiven her yet. Its taking me ages to get over her though. Don't see her man, it WILL make it worse no matter how good a time you have together, you'll just end up feeling rubbish.

I don't think you want to hear this but the best thing you can actually do is break all contact with her for at least a couple of months. delete her phone number, block and delete her from msn. Give yourself (and her) time to clear your head. You're going to be pretty messed up right now.
