***SPOILERS AHOY!!!*** Football 1st-5th Jan

Problem United have at the moment is Ferguson has ignored the weak areas for so long, we have too many awful back up players, we cant play O'shea, Gibson, Evans, Obertan, Neville or Giggs in any meaningfull fixture as they simply are not good enough.

We should be 2-1 down, Obertan has been ****ing awful and the sooner Neville is retired the better :/

Spot on, Obertan has been woeful, a complete waste of space in the team. He only highlights how much we're missing Nani, Park and Valencia. Neville ought to realise his best days are behind him and retire, Rafael is a far superior right back now.

The most frustrating thing is how poor United have been in this opening half at keeping possession. You wouldn't see Barca or Real throw away possession so cheaply, it annoys me that English teams are so poor at possession football.

Lol because you've obviously got a ridiculously warped viewpoint .

It's quite clear you can't understand that even IF the penalty was given, even IF they scored and Neville was sent off, that a team COULD STILL come back into a game.

I'm not saying anything else on the matter as talking about a Ref's decision is more dull than watching paint dry.

Its not an excuse but that pitch at the Hawthorns is shocking, that's why our midfield can't pass and West Brom are lumping it at every opportunity.

We ain't going to be seeing free flowing passing football today.

Yes, because the eleven man Manyoo team which has so far offered very little would have magically turned into a load of epic ballers if they went a goal down and/or went down to ten men.

Much stranger things have happened, you can't rule it out. :)

Hopefully Fergue will call in a vet and have Neville put down at half time. He's the route cause of our problems at the moment.

Him getting sent off would have been a positive.

Gary Neville needs to just jump on the bus right now and play solitaire for the rest of the game.

United look poor today. West Brom look buoyant.

Hard game to win this.

True, the pitch looks like it's cutting up really badly and you can see the ball bobbling when the players pass it. Even so, United really ought to be playing better, West Brom are dominating midfield.

If Utd start playing, they shouldn't have a problem, WBA haven't looked that likely (apart from the pen and some long shots) to score another I don't think.

Just need to find a way to kick into gear..

Complete rubbish, sorry but West Brom are passing HUGELY more accurately than Utd, and seeing as they've barely played on the pitch in the last couple months its hardly like they are used to it.

Infact the pitch looks shoddy in terms of grass quality but it DOESN'T look full of holes or massively bumpy, theres plenty of good long passing happening with the ball not bouncing around like a crazy ball.

The poor passing is from the players, nothing more or less.

Fletcher, Obertan, Carrick, Rooney have been absolutely shocking, looks like Rooney was actually doing the right thing and knocking his header down for Berbatov rather than shooting, got fairly lucky with the goal.

Anderson, Fletcher, Obertan, Rooney, Carrick seem almost completely incapable of passing forwards, they get the ball, think about where to pass for a stupidly long time then pass back to midfield, Obertan being the worst and almost completely unwilling to try and take on anyone. Crossing as been shocking, passing, haven't really had the chance to be poor at shooting, defensively poor, Utd just look awful across the pitch in every sense, though thats pretty much normal for away from home.

As with Arsenal, and most sides, you can get away with an Obertan, or a Carrick, Anderson or Neville, Rooney when you've got enough hard work or quality around them, but a side with too many of those types of players in and the overall quality of the team dips way to low.

Utd's first 11 can carry any of those poor players easily, but only 5 "first team" players trying to carry 5 horribly out of form or just bad players and it doesn't work.

Again rubbish, he's been poor, he's like 400 years old not sure what you expect. Utd's midfield should be pretty much preventing the ball getting into Utd's half AT ALL. 5 years ago this game would be 90% in West Brom's half, with 70-80% posession to Utd and Gary Neville could be quite as crap as he wanted.

The route cause of Utd's problem is the entire midfield, now five, playing like demented retards who can't pass the ball. West Brom are far far better than your average promoted team, but they are far far away from a real top half side and striker wise shouldn't be remotely able to trouble Utd.

Neville is Fergie's fault, he WAS a GREAT defender, hateful with dodgey tache but a great defender, but he shouldn't have been offered contracts beyond 2, maybe 3 years ago. Fergie could frankly have saved a ridiculous amount of money buying in a quality younger 10mil right back 3 years ago while letting Neville go as his wages vs a new player will be astronomical.

Same goes for Giggs, Fergie's peeing money down the drain on those two when the money could be far better spent.

Unlikely, yes, but not impossible. Which was his point :p

Someone who understands, hurrah!

A penalty could have been given to United 5 minutes later, evening it up, things like that. It CAN happen.

Unfortunately the narrow minded United hate blinkers are on today.

Here's to a second half of hopefully improved football..

Let's just litter all threads with every possibility, then... regardless of how realistic it is!

Plymouth Argyle to win every division they play in, for the next five years, culminating in winning that year's Champions League!! ;DDDDDDDDD

And the earlier point of you being a child stands valid.

Shant feed the troll anymore..

Although to add to my previous post from memory West Brom are the most red carded team this season with a total of 6 so far, I don't think anyones on more.
