** spoilers ** English League Football [20th - 22nd November 2010]

I'm having a dig at Welbeck, Macheda's alright. This was directed further up the thread I guess.

Because some people were calling him utter crap from, 5 years up till 2 games ago, then he "starred" against Chelsea, even though from what I recall his goal was a gift and 98% of the good work done against Chelsea was by everyone but Welbeck.

Then he got two goals tonight, which for 98% of football fans means he's one of the best strikers currently in the league. The fact that his first goal wasn't much more than a tap in, and the second while good positioning wasn't much more than a flick on and his general all around game throughout was fairly poor against a fairly poor Everton side.

Someone gets two goals and their entire opinion changes, most Arsenal fans thought Diaby was awful, he got two goals against Pompie early last year(might be the one before that now) and suddenly he was a pretty decent player who bought a lot to the side, despite only scoring in 2-3 more games all season. Same goes for Song, scores in 3 games in a row, it happens, and suddenly he's a great attacking central midfield, like he's a great defensive midfielder despite being incapable of defending?

Park, everyone thought he was useless, gets a few lucky goals and people forget how rubbish 89 of his minutes on the pitch were.

Welbeck is rubbish, lucky couple games, it won't last and he's not been very good in either game. In his time actually playing first team games at Utd, he looked rubbish, really really rubbish.

Macheda has scored important goals, some good goals and some tap ins, his vision seems to be fairly decent but he's had injuries and riding the bench with no form makes it hard to play well, the number of Oli's of the world who are super subs are few and far between. Macheda I'm still unsure about, could be quality, could easily not make it, Welbeck, won't make it at Utd, he's rubbish.

Hadnt realised Welbeck was so young (after his recent 2-3 seasons in the Utd first team squad) , but every time I saw him in those seasons he looked distinctly average, glad his loan move is working out but I cant see him ever being gaurenteed a start at Utd, even as a winger

Macheda just needs a good run of starts partnered with one person upfront, unfortunately Fergie mainly plays him as a loan striker (which is difficult enough for an experienced player let alone a 20 year-old)

Rossi was bought to the club as a 16 year old or something wasnt he? Wouldnt really say that was "through the youth set-up) - rumors flying around Utd have signed Leeds Kiebbe for £500,000 (whos about the same age)......

Rossi? Blake? Campbell? They're all ones we brought through the reserves into the first team. Rossi aside Macheda & Welbeck look a lot more able than Blake and Campbell

Should have said only decent strikers.

Rossi was never going to be in the first team, Ebanks-Blake only scored 1 goal in the Carling Cup and was sent packing to Plymouth and Campbell has never really looked decent since he left.
