**SPOILERS** Football 26th Feb - 2nd Mar 2011

So can i, does that make it acceptable though?

No, but to point the blame 100% at the referee just stinks of tin foil hat.

United didn't play well for most of the game, they had spells and overall their passing was excellent at times.

Rooney other than his goal did nothing, his passing was awful. Poor little pea having to chase some of Rooney's passes. :p

Chelsea uped the tempo and just shaded it in the end.

When you attack with the pace Chelsea did then you will get luck.

Sorry, there was contact, and enough of it to go down, he just ran into it though and changed his course a bit to hit it, its not really a dive, more a looking for it if you can call it that.
Eduardo had 'contact' on Boruc at the beginning of last season too, doesn't stop it being a dive.

Some bad decisions by the ref but thats football , united where the better team in the first half but chelsea came out in the second half and wanted it more .

100% a penalty.

Smalling sticks a leg out and contact, end of story.

Not all the time, he left his boot in and then fell over easy.

If it wasn't given, people would complain but they're 50/50.

Still, can't really allow the ref to not send Luiz off, or see Terry's handball (possibly blocked).

Man U can lose all their remaining games, but you can always rely on Arsenal still doing worse :D

Easily Man U's still.

How  We're 4 points clear with one game more played and we still have Arsenal at their ground...surely they have to be favourites now? Even considering their lack of winners.

I thought he played well actually, always seemed to find someone when the ball was played up to him. The usual candidates played poorly really, Carrick's passing was dire, O'**** just offered nothing and Scholes still looks way off his best.

In Atkinson's defence, it looked more of a penalty from the angle from behind. Doesn't take away from his other decisions though. Luiz's charge on Hernandez was far worse than anything Rooney did at the weekend, but I doubt that will be talked about tomorrow.

Yeah, like Man u fans would say to the ref at OT that was not a pen, come on.
Why would Man United fans be talking to the ref?

In the interest of relevance, if the situation was reversed I'd like to think more of the sane fans would admit it was very, very soft and he flopped over knowing what he was doing. At least Shami, Robbo, etc., would... can't speak for myself. :D

Watching the penalty decision again; Zhirkov didn't change his path at all, pen was the right decision.

Luiz should have gone for the trip on Rooney though.
Even if this is true (it's not by the way), then he's still talking about the game isn't he?

It is true

I thought it was common knowledge that Ferguson doesn't give post match press-conferences and that he frequently refuses to give interviews to Sky when the result goes against Utd.

It's a shame because he's usually pretty entertaining ;)

Say what? Please let there be a gif post off!

The more they show Luiz's challenges, the more ridiculous it is they weren't given :/
The elbow, the late challenge on Rooney where he left both his legs fly into his calves, the off-the-ball lunge on Rooney again later, the list goes on... shame he was subbed soon after the last, surely the ridiculousness could only go on for so much longer...

There as a similar tackle on Nani by Ivanovic in the box during the second half which I'd like to see again - it was replayed once (Tyler thought it could have been a penalty) then never seen again.
