**SPOILERS** Football 26th Feb - 2nd Mar 2011

Retarded Sky punditry yet again, never thought I'd think of Redknapp talking sense comparative to the eejit beside him.

Have they replayed Terry's handball yet? :/
It's even worse slowed down, you can actually see him leaning into it and smiling after.

Aye he dived into the contact, Zhirkov was running normally until he hit Smalling's leg from what i saw.
Not as blatent as Eduardo or Rooney (against Almunia) I'll give you that, but still Zhirkov can get by Smalling without being impeded.

Wasn't it only a matter of days ago everyone was laughing at Arsenal saying they don't know how to win and collapse with zero confidence blah blah blah...

Aye and as an Arsenal fan I think he's just trying to coyly tempt fate or something. :p

We're a bit closer thanks to UTD losing and true enough they have to come to Ashburton. But our consistency will remain the same; we'll wonder closer as they lose and further away as they get a few wins on the bounce. I don't really see our side putting in such a title winning run, they've not really looked able to do so for a long time now. Finish 3rd and get as far as we can in cups. Going to be trickier with RvP out (it seems).

So can every player, but why the hell would they choose too, he has his leg out, in the path the ball is moving, you run over it. Its a 50/50 and you could be disappointed either way. It was not a dive though, and i ****ing hate Chelsea and think they are a pack of cheating so and sos when they want to be.

Mind you Drogba the past 1.5years has been very good, Nani should learn from him.

In Atkinson's defence, it looked more of a penalty from the angle from behind. Doesn't take away from his other decisions though. Luiz's charge on Hernandez was far worse than anything Rooney did at the weekend, but I doubt that will be talked about tomorrow.

It would have looked more like a penalty I agree; but you must be 100% positive.
I can only assume from his position he felt it was a 100% decision to award the penalty, still the wrong decision though.

Fergie talks :D ;)

Shock horror.

I said the same thing after the Rooney incident you mention, there's no obligation on the forwards part to avoid the contact. As long as the forward goes down under the contact and doesn't dive to the ground before the contact (as you often see), it's a pen for me.

His shoulder gets Hernandes in the eye, how are you not getting this?

Don't often agree with you, but the way Hernandez head even moves back, either way its a stonewall yellow.

Anyone notice how Rooney was able to barge his way past essien and give a foul without jumping or lifting elbows ;D?

Yes but I mean in the sense Zhirkov steps closer to Smalling than he would have done otherwise, knowing that he could draw the foul. Silly by Smalling but Zhirkov knows what he wants a second or two before this happens and it's not to get through on goal.

Doesn't the described incident against Arsenal have Rooney pretty much raking his leg across the ground towards Almunia while in the air, effectively meaning he kicks him for the 'contact'? :p

It's just that I don't understand why you would agree with the penalty when as a United fan I think Rooney dived and can't even claim that Almunia would have impeded him in a hypothetical scenario where Rooney tries not to go down.
