He has scored a few - but has never been that prolific (for Utd at least)

I would suggest that Utd/SAF playing Carrick more defensively over majority of the last 4 years cant help that either way

Sometimes, but more then often I believe he tends to play in the centre. He just doesn't have the legs to run the wing these days, but still has good vision and passing.
